Call For Papers
Thursday, 15th July 2021 (online)

The unprecedented COVID19 health crisis has brought the world to a standstill, and tourism has been the worst affected of all major economic sectors. However, even if COVID19 has brought tourism to uncharted waters, our knowledge from previous crises shows that the industry can quickly recover and return to normality. A precondition of this is to regain the holiday intention of visitors, also taking under consideration that in travel, tourism and hospitality, destinations and organizations need to gain the highest possible resilience when facing inevitable crises and disasters.
The Summit welcomes theoretical, empirical, experimental, and case study research contributions. These contributions should clearly address the theoretical and practical implications of the research in reference. The proposed topics can include but are not limited to the following:
- Risk and crisis management
- Disaster and crisis management operations
- Crisis management communications
- Tourism, hospitality, events and aviation resilience management
- Destination resilience and crisis resolution
Abstract Submission
An abstract between 400 to 500 words (excluding references) should be submitted. The abstract should include an indication of the purpose of the research, the interdisciplinary approach taken, the methods used and the key (expected) findings. The abstract should be submitted via email to isummit@sunderland.ac.uk
